Spent the evening listening to the debut album “Day Dawns” from Singer-Songwriter Melissa James. I was so surprised from a review of her bio that we have so much in common. Caribbean parents, born in the UK and predilection for genre melting creations. This debut album hosts impressive production and quite soul moving songwriting. Melissa performs brilliantly on my favourite track “Have a Good Day”. However don’t miss checking out “Don’t You Keep Yourself Down”. I prefer this live version of Little Caged Bird over the album track. All in all, Melissa gives a dynamic vocal performance. She is a very gifted artist. Expect great things from her.
